Powder-coated steel service doorset in a commercial building

Functional steel doorsets

Steel Service Doors.
Evidence Before Claims.

Functional steel door programs for utility, back-of-house, commercial and security applications. Any fire, acoustic or other rating is offered only through an exact, valid and destination-accepted assembly route.

Procurement boundary

A door image cannot carry a rating.

Performance belongs to the complete doorset and installation conditions, not to the core or leaf image alone. Leaf, frame, seals, glazing, hardware and field installation must remain within the exact tested, listed or otherwise accepted configuration.

LANDO does not market an unverified fire rating. Where suitable evidence is unavailable, we quote the product only as a non-rated steel service doorset.

These images support design discussion only. They do not represent a tested rating. Send the destination, opening and performance requirement for a valid sourcing review.

Minimum brief

Define the doorset, not only the leaf.

Steel service doors and fire-resistant assemblies require an opening-level schedule and a disciplined hardware/evidence review.

01

Opening & handing

Structural opening, finished door size, wall condition, handing, single/double leaf and threshold.

02

Leaf & frame

Steel material and thickness, reinforcement, core, frame profile, anchors and finish system.

03

Hardware set

Hinges, lock, panic hardware, closer, coordinator, seals, glazing and factory preparation.

04

Destination code, accepted test/listing route, field installation, labels and documentation.

Current supply policy

Fire-resistant doors are not a default catalog line.

LANDO will first check whether the selected manufacturing route has current evidence for the exact assembly and whether that evidence is accepted by the destination authority, consultant or buyer.

  • No rating inferred from domestic product descriptions
  • No substitution of core, frame, hardware or seals outside evidence
  • No claim based only on a supplier relationship or previous project
  • Written approval route before deposit where performance is contractual

Buyer FAQ

Questions to settle before quotation.

Clear answers depend on the selected construction, quantity, destination and approved supplier route.

Is every steel door a fire-rated door?

No. A steel service door is not automatically fire rated. A fire rating applies only to the exact tested or certified doorset assembly, including leaf, frame, core, seals, glazing, hardware and installation conditions.

What evidence is required for a rated doorset?

The buyer must first identify the destination standard and authority requirements. LANDO then checks whether the proposed assembly has current, applicable evidence covering the requested configuration. No rating should be promised from an image or core material alone.

Can steel doors be supplied with louvers or vision panels?

Yes, subject to the approved drawing and assembly. Where performance is required, the louver, glazing, hardware and openings must fall within valid evidence accepted for the destination.

What information is needed for a steel door quote?

Provide opening sizes, handing, single or double leaf, frame and wall condition, finish, hardware schedule, louver or glazing details, required evidence, quantity, packing and destination.
